Fatima Sana Shaikh Learns Surfing in Sri Lanka Ahead of New Film Release

Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently revealed that she took up surfing during a vacation in Sri Lanka and managed to grasp the basics within just five days.

Sharing her experience on Instagram, Shaikh posted a series of photos and videos documenting her surfing lessons. One image shows her posing confidently with a surfboard, while a video clip captures her attempting to ride the waves.

“In five days, I tried to learn surfing and picked it up little by little,” Shaikh wrote in the caption. “Made an impromptu plan with my cutie @adithisagarr and just went for it. There’s video proof in the second-last slide! Also, if you ever want to learn surfing in Sri Lanka, Chandu is your guy! He’s the best teacher. I had never surfed before, but he got me on the board.”

The actress is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming film Metro… In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu. Scheduled for a July 4 theatrical release, the film explores themes of modern relationships, love, heartbreak, and human connection. The ensemble cast includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta.

In addition to the film, Shaikh will also star in the web series Teen Kawwe alongside Pavail Gulati and Sidhant Gupta. Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the UTV Motion Pictures banner, the series is described as a slice-of-life drama blending humor, emotion, and realism. Shaikh was last seen in the biographical drama Sam Bahadur, based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw.
