The Surfers’ Hall of Fame has announced the latest inductees for 2025, with Caroline Marks, Tom Servais, and Dwight Dunn set to receive the prestigious honor this year. The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, August 1, at 9:00 a.m. in Huntington Beach, California.

Caroline Marks, a standout figure in professional surfing, will be recognized for her impressive career. Marks began competing in the World Surf League (WSL) at the age of 13 and secured a spot on the Championship Tour at just 15, earning the 2018 Rookie of the Year award. Since then, she has claimed eight WSL event victories, including a world championship title. Most recently, Marks achieved a historic milestone by winning a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, marking her second Olympic appearance.

Tom Servais, who transitioned from Florida surfer to acclaimed surf photographer, will also be inducted. Servais moved to California in 1973, where he began working in the darkroom at SURFER magazine. His 20-year career with the publication as a staff photographer laid the foundation for a successful freelance career in the 1990s, capturing some of the most iconic surf images of the era.

Dwight Dunn, whose professional surfing journey began at 16, will be honored for his contributions both as a surfer and industry professional. Dunn made his mark in the 1970s, riding for Infinity Surfboards and gaining sponsorships and magazine recognition. In 1979, he co-founded Carl Hayward Surfboards with Carl Hayward. Dunn later played a key role in Billabong USA’s growth and worked alongside Bob Hurley when Hurley launched his own brand, Hurley, in 1999, where Dunn continued to serve for 18 years.

“We are honored and excited to induct Caroline, Tom, and Dwight into the Surfers’ Hall of Fame this coming August,” said Aaron Pai, founder of the Surfers’ Hall of Fame, in a press release. “They are the best in the world in their fields of surfing!”

During the ceremony, the three honorees will have their hands and footprints immortalized in cement outside Huntington Surf & Sport, a longtime hub of surf culture in the area.

The Surfers’ Hall of Fame induction ceremony marks a significant moment for the sport and its rich history, as these legendary figures join the ranks of other surfing icons honored throughout the years.
