The UNC Wilmington women’s soccer program has announced the signing of goalkeeper Zoë Anderson to its 2025 roster. Anderson, who previously played for Oregon Surf ECNL, is set to join the Seahawks after a brief stint at the University of Arkansas during the 2025 spring semester.
UNC Wilmington head coach Chris Neal expressed excitement over Anderson’s commitment. “We are thrilled to welcome Zoë to UNCW. She has incredible potential, and we’re eager to support her development both on and off the field. We look forward to seeing her in action at the Hawk’s Nest this upcoming season,” Neal said.
A native of Portland, Oregon, Anderson arrives at UNC Wilmington with an impressive athletic background. The Jesuit High School alumna was a three-year starter and a two-time all-state goalkeeper. In her senior year of 2024, she earned All-America Team West honors and was a finalist for Oregon Player of the Year. Anderson played a key role in leading Jesuit High School to back-to-back OSAA 6A State Championships in 2022 and 2024, finishing the latter season without conceding a single goal.
Throughout her high school career, Anderson recorded an outstanding 93.8% save rate, stopping 151 of 161 shots. She also posted 43 shutouts and conceded only three goals during regular-season play, resulting in a career goals-against average of 0.28.
On the national stage, Anderson has been recognized as a U.S. Soccer Youth National Team player and served as team captain for the Olympic Development Program at the prestigious Friendship Cup. Her accomplishments also extend to her time in the Elite Club National League, where she represented Oregon Surf G06-07 (formerly Northwest Elite FC). Anderson was named one of the top 100 players in the class of 2025 and earned a three-star rating from Top Drawer Soccer. She also garnered recognition as a nine-time TDS National Showcase Club Standout.
Off the field, Anderson is an academic standout. She maintained a 3.97 GPA, earned National Merit Commended Scholar honors, and was selected as a delegate to the Congress of the National Academy of Future Physicians.
With such an impressive athletic and academic background, Anderson is poised to make a significant impact for UNC Wilmington in the upcoming season.
