Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky are celebrating a proud milestone as their 10-year-old son Sasha clinched first place in his debut surfing competition.
On Sunday, June 15, the “Avengers” star shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting footage and photos from the Byron Bay Boardriders Juniors event in New South Wales, Australia, where Sasha competed and emerged victorious.
“So happy for my boy winning his first board riders comp,” Hemsworth wrote, alongside a video capturing Sasha and his friends’ joyous reactions as he carried his surfboard back to the beach.
The post also included a family photo showing Hemsworth, Pataky, and Sasha posing together on a rainy beach, with Sasha proudly holding his surfboard. The actor expressed gratitude to the youth-oriented surfing club, writing, “Big thanks to @byronbayboardriders .”
Known for his enthusiastic support of his children’s activities, Hemsworth frequently shares highlights of their achievements and family moments on social media. Earlier this year, he posted about Sasha’s twin brother, Tristan, competing in his first motocross race, where he finished third in his class. Hemsworth captured the emotional moments, including hugs and celebrations, emphasizing his pride.
In February, Hemsworth also shared clips from a family ski trip featuring all three of his children, including daughter India Rose, 13, showcasing their impressive skiing skills. The actor humorously remarked on his kids’ talent, noting that they made him feel out of place on the slopes.
Hemsworth and Pataky married in 2010 and have since welcomed three children: daughter India Rose in 2012 and twin boys Sasha and Tristan in 2014. Despite their high-profile careers, the couple has openly expressed their desire to provide their children with a grounded and normal upbringing.
The Hemsworth children have also been introduced to the entertainment world, appearing alongside their father in films such as Thor: Love & Thunder (2022). In May 2024, the twins attended the Australian premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga with their parents, followed by the family’s presence at Hemsworth’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
During his acceptance speech, Hemsworth spoke warmly about his children’s inspiring nature. “Their ability to live in the moment and to dive into life head first and to have fun and be joyous and playful is a constant reminder that that’s what life’s about. I love you guys,” he said.
